africa time

27 Jun

Well its been a long 24 hours. Our team met at church Wednesday morning ready to go. Little did we know God had other plans in store for us. Our flight to London was delayed over 24 hours, with no other options to get to London. Luckily we got hooked up with free hotel rooms and food (we were a bit spoiled). We waited for hours in line just to run into another dead end. But finally here we are, through security with our boarding passes in hand. Our plane is supposed to leave in two hours (But please keep praying for no more delays). And praise God we should (fingers-crossed) be able to make it to our first conference with the pastors and their wives. We are literally going to arrive in Ghana, throw our stuff in the hotel and run over to the conference.

I think God using this experience to prepare us for Africa. He has our trip in his hands, with everything under control, even though we don’t see the big picture. God is teaching us to trust Him always. Everything in Africa runs hours late, therefore nicknamed “Africa time”. He is teaching us patience to prepare for Africa time and teaching us to trust him wholeheartedly.

Philippians 4 // Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
